چکیده
The aim of the study was to determine impact commercially available hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) and its mixture (HVO5, where 5% (v/v) HVO 95% FDD) with diesel fuel (FDD) on power, torque, consumption, exhaust gas composition an atmospheric internal combustion engine used in off-road applications. Diesel as comparative fuel. Testing realized a full-load mode KOHLER KDI 1903 M 3-cylinder SIERRA CP-Engineering test bench. AVL SESAM FTIR analytical system emissions, while KMA Mobile consumption measuring device measure consumption. Research showed that lowest power torque readings were obtained FDD, slightly higher result compared fossil At same time, highest hourly observed running HVO5, FDD. Increases carbon monoxide (CO), dioxide (CO2), nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions for HVO5 those CO content increased by average 3.0% using 36% but NOx 8.8% HVO5. reduction 60% found case hydrocarbons (HC). confirmed physicochemical properties could leave main performance parameters emissions.

Reduction of emissions and fuel consumption of diesel engine by using common rail fuel injection and aftertreatment systems
In this experimental study, the fuel system of the OM364 diesel engine manufactured by IDEM company, which operates in the basic mode with inline fuel pump and mechanical governor control, is upgraded to a common rail system with electronic control by the ECU. Also, emmssion of exhaust gases is reduced by SCR and DOC catalysts then performance and emmission parameters of engine are compared i...
متن کاملPrediction and Comparison of the Effect of N-butanol and Ethanol Addition to the Biodiesel-diesel Fuel Mixture on the Performance and Emissions Characteristics of a Diesel Engine
The main objective of this research is to study the effects of n-butanol and ethanol addition to the biodiesel-diesel fuel mixture on the performance and emission characteristics of a CI engine. The experimental tests were performed on a diesel engine. The RSM (Response Surface Methodology) method was used to develop mathematical models based on experimental data. According to the results, the ...
متن کاملDiesel Engine Performance and Exhaust Emissions Using Cottonseed Oil Biodiesel
Non-road diesel engines are significant contributors to air pollution in the United States (USEPA, 2004). These engines emit particulate matter (PM), nitrogen oxides (NOx), sulfur dioxide (SO2), and other pollutants. The Clean Air Non-road Diesel Rule was put in place to reduce emission levels from agricultural, construction, and industrial diesel powered equipment. This rule calls for a reduct...
متن کاملToward an Improvement of Natural Gas-diesel Dual Fuel Engine Operation at Part Load Condition by Detail CFD Simulation
Natural gas-diesel dual fuel combustion is a beneficial strategy for achieving high efficient and low emissions operation in compression ignition engines, especially in genset application heavy duty diesel engine at rated power. This study aims to investigate a dual fuel engine performance and emissions using premixed natural gas and early direct injection of diesel fuel. Due to the different r...
متن کاملThe influence of operating parameters on the performance and emissions of a DI diesel engine using methanol-blended-diesel fuel
In this study, the effects of injection pressure and timing on the performance and emission characteristics of a DI diesel engine using methanol (5%, 10% and 15%) blended-diesel fuel were investigated. The tests were conducted on three different injection pressures (180, 200 and 220 bar) and timings (15 , 20 , and 25 CA BTDC) at 20 Nm engine load and 2200 rpm. The results indicated that brake s...
